DSN General Cleaning Inc is pleased to share some cleaning tips for some of the areas we see a lot of issues with. The best advice is to deal with cleaning something before it becomes overwhelming and if it seems too big, call the professionals. Our expert staff has the knowledge and flexibility to advise you on the best course of action for your situation.

Windows

We recommend cleaning your windows four times a year. For windows you want to clean yourself, wait for a cloudy day. When they are damp you will be able to see all the fingerprints and dirt more easily. On a sunny day, the windows will dry too quickly. If you have hard to reach windows, definitely hire a professional.

Hardwood Floors

Shift your area rugs every few months. The ultraviolet (UV) rays coming in will affect the finish of most floors over time. Don’t leave area rugs on the hardwood floor during steam cleaning. Sweep and vacuum hardwoods regularly as dust and debris can scratch the top layer of a no-wax floor.

Other

To help absorb smells, put baking soda in the bottom of your trash cans. For mildew smells, eliminating the source of the mildew is the fastest course of action.

Use foamy bathroom cleaner on the bricks or stone in front of your chimney to remove stains. Follow-up with a mild sudsy cleaner.
